I Wonder - Jan 5th

So Cowboy woke up and just had fishing on his mind. But he thought, you know.....I'm gonna be one of those guys that just shows up around 8:30 - 9:00 and usually gets lucky. So I decided to test that theory. Rolled into Starbucks at 8:30, get into the lake at 8:40 and to my surprise it was packed...rutt roo, it was a camp over day. So I spent the next 15 minutes driving around the lake trying to find a spot to squeeze in. When that failed I said what the heck and headed over to Chris' pound. Had to go all the way around to the back on the freeway side to find a spot. Well as they keep saying, there are no spots. 9:15 got a good nibble but couldn't land it, 9:30 it starts raining, 9:45 it's pouring, 10:00 first fish caught. Nice 2 lb'r. Rain lets up to a drizzle for a while then starts in earnest around 10:45. Stay bundled in the car for a while and figure can't see or react to my poles from here so turned the car around, opened the door and put up my umbrella. Bam, 11:15 caught another one. This was smaller but good for a Filet o Fish sandwich. Proved my point and left around noon as the rain wasn't letting up.

SARL oh SARL - Dec 15th

Well DI couldn't make it because of his knee so Big D and Cowboy ventured out the weekend after the big opening. Having higher than usual expectations based on the read ups about how they re-groomed the lake to make it better for everyone, we should know better. Oh yes, the day of the Skunkola. There were a few drive bys early in the morning but that was about it. 

Scouting Trip November 3rd at Anaheim....NOT

SARL on Hold....Looks like maintenance won't finish until December

Well it was supposed to be a scouting trip to Anaheim but we had to declare it the opener after DI came on strong late in the day and limited out with a 9 pound stringer. It was a blast DI said. Been awhile since any of us limited. Cowboy came in a close 2nd with a 8 pound 10oz stringer and one nice 3.6 pound Bad Ass Red.

I'm catching that big fish if my name isn't BIG D, Well at least he got the White Lightning :)
